About the Formar no Feminino project<\/h2>\n \n
\n

The \u201cFormar no Feminino\u201d (2009\u20132012) project trained women in Santo Ant\u00e3o, Cape Verde, in child support, entrepreneurship, and maternal and child health. It involved 182 participants and promoted their integration into the labour market, strengthening professional skills and economic opportunities, with support from the City of Lisbon Foundation, Atelier Mar and co-financing from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n

What for?<\/h3>\n
\n

Overall objective:<\/strong> To contribute to the socio-economic development and empowerment of women on the island of Santo Ant\u00e3o, Cape Verde, through vocational training, promotion of entrepreneurship and improvement of maternal and child health conditions.<\/p>\n

Specific objectives:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • To train early childhood support monitors, improving the quality of childcare, with a total of 97 trainees.<\/li>\n
  • Empower and support women’s entrepreneurship in the island’s three municipalities, encouraging the creation of small businesses, with 51 participants.<\/li>\n
  • Train sexual and reproductive health promoters to provide pregnancy and childbirth support and community counselling.<\/li>\n
  • Promote awareness campaigns for \u2018Better Assisted Motherhood\u2019 in the most impoverished areas, with 34 participants.<\/li>\n
  • Develop training activities in associationism, entrepreneurship and small business management, and project development techniques, encouraging the participation of unemployed women.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n
