In December 2025, the Lisbon City Foundation launched a new project for the social and civic inclusion of migrants, with the support of the BPI Fundação “la Caixa” Solidarity Award. The initiative aims to promote full integration through learning the Portuguese language, access to employment, education and culture, as well as strengthening intercultural dialogue. Based on an integrated approach, the project combines language training, employability skills, personal expression and cultural participation, responding to the specific needs of migrants in situations of greater vulnerability, including women and refugees.
Training, capacity building and cultural participation
Among the main activities planned are Portuguese language courses and conversation groups, focused on developing language skills as an essential tool for social, civic and professional inclusion.
The project also includes Mentoring for Employability (10 sessions), aimed at supporting migrants in actively seeking employment, entrepreneurship and the recognition of qualifications and diplomas, promoting autonomy and integration into the labour market.
In addition, there will be Training in Storytelling and Communication (10 sessions), which will allow participants to share their life stories, strengthening personal and social skills, as well as learning the Portuguese language. Socio-cultural activities and visits (10 activities/visits) are also planned, providing cultural, artistic and historical immersion in the city of Lisbon and promoting reflection on cultural diversity.
Awareness, sharing and impact on the community
The project also includes an Awareness Campaign, based on collecting testimonials from migrants for dissemination on social media, with the aim of promoting greater awareness at national level about migration experiences and the value of diversity.
The Final Dissemination Event will mark the end of the project, with a public presentation of the campaign and the main results achieved, reinforcing Fun’s commitment.
