Fundação Cidade de Lisboa assinala o Dia Mundial da Água 2023 com a conferência Desafios para a Gestão do Ciclo da Água em Zonas Urbanas

On 22 March 2023, the Lisbon City Foundation (Fundação Cidade de Lisboa) marked World Water Day 2023 by hosting the conference “Challenges for Water Cycle Management in Urban Areas”.

The event featured several specialists, including Professor António Carmona Rodrigues, President of the Lisbon City Foundation and member of the Compliance Committee of the UNECE/WHO Europe Protocol on Water and Health; Felisbina Quadrado from the Portuguese Environment Agency; and the Mayor of Lisbon, Carlos Moedas, among others.

Discussions focused on the challenges of managing the water cycle in urban environments, addressing sensitive issues such as the quality of water for domestic use, wastewater treatment, and flood management.

This conference marked the beginning of the IV Cycle of Conferences organised by the Lisbon City Foundation. The initiative signals a return to the debate of highly relevant and contemporary topics, maintaining the critical thinking and strategic reflection on the role of the city that have always been central to the Foundation’s mission.
