The Education through Integration project, promoted by the Renovar a Mouraria association and of which the Lisbon City Foundation is a partner, held a conference on 27 March 2023 at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, where the first results of the project were presented. This conference was also an opportunity to reflect on public policies for the integration of migrant children and young people into the Portuguese school system.
The Lisbon City Foundation was represented by its president, Professor António Carmona Rodrigues, at the opening session and also by project technician Almudena Ferro, who took part in Panel II: Perspectives on Education and Migration.
The Education for Integration project promotes an academic study on the integration of NPT immigrant children and young people and asylum seekers into the Portuguese education system. It also aims to identify good practices for the school integration of migrant children and young people, both nationally and internationally.
