‘Skills for Life’ Mobility Inspires Reflection and Collaboration at Fundação Cidade de Lisboa

On 15 September, the Fundação Cidade de Lisboa (FCL) hosted the workshop “Mobility in Genoa: Experiences and Learning”, led by Edmar Bandeira, Rodrigo Ventura and Carmem dos Reis, scholarship holders from FCL’s University College for Cooperation, with the support of Rute Machado, the Foundation’s project coordinator.

The four participants took part in the Erasmus+ mobility “Skills for Life: Communication, Creativity and Culture”, held from 8 to 12 July 2025 in Genoa, Italy.

The workshop aimed to share the knowledge and experiences gained during this international learning opportunity with other scholarship holders and the Foundation’s team, fostering a space for collective reflection, creativity and cooperation.

Lessons from Genoa: Learning, Culture and Cooperation

The session began with an introductory presentation about the Erasmus+ programme and the context of the mobility.

Throughout the workshop, several of the dynamics experienced in Genoa were recreated, encouraging participants to communicate and reflect creatively. These activities — focused on expression, humour and visual thinking — demonstrated how learning can be both playful and collaborative, while strengthening interpersonal and creative skills.

One of the highlights of the session was the screening of a video summary of the mobility, showcasing moments from the days spent in Genoa — from working sessions and cultural visits to intercultural exchanges with international participants. The video transported everyone back to the vibrant atmosphere of the experience, illustrating the richness of cross-cultural learning and exchange.

From International Experience to Local Impact

The final part of the workshop was dedicated to the personal testimonies of all participants, who reflected on their learning, challenges and achievements throughout the mobility. Each one highlighted how the experience contributed to their academic, professional and personal growth, reinforcing values such as empathy, communication and cooperation.

The scholarship holders from the University College for Cooperation and the FCL team also had the opportunity to engage in an open dialogue, sharing impressions and ideas on how to apply the lessons learned in Genoa to their local context.

The atmosphere was one of closeness, curiosity and inspiration, confirming the importance of these initiatives in building an active and collaborative learning community.
