She has experience since 2005 in community intervention, particularly in school settings, focusing on the development of personal, social, academic, and civic awareness programs for children and young people. Developed and implemented training programs for teachers, social workers, and volunteers, promoting academic success and education for development and global citizenship. Believes in positive change through respect and equality for all.

Almudena Ferro

Almudena Ferro

Master's degree in Social Work, Welfare State, and Social Intervention Methodologies, with over nine years of professional experience in the field of community social intervention, in Portugal and Spain. Interested in social change projects, she has mainly worked in the areas of education, inclusion, human rights, children and youth, volunteering, and migration, as a technician and coordinator of social projects. As a certified trainer, she has created and implemented training programs aimed at volunteer networks, teachers, educators, and youth workers in the fields of interculturality, inclusion, and diversity management in educational contexts, both nationally and internationally.

Mariana Antunes
Portuguese language courses

Mariana Antunes

Master's degree in Systemic Clinical Psychology, with experience in the areas of community intervention and social participation in Portugal and Italy, particularly in school contexts and the integration of migrants. From her systemic perspective, she seeks to work in collaboration with the different agents in each context to trigger co-constructed solutions that result from aligning existing forces. In this process, training in non-formal education practices and participatory and creative methodologies is a fundamental resource for activating individual and community knowledge, which is essential for creating new responses. As a trainer, she has supported the creation and implementation of training courses aimed at community volunteer networks, social intervention technicians, teachers and operational assistants in the areas of pedagogical facilitation, community mediation, interculturality and citizenship.

Erasmus KA1 courses

Camila Brito

Project technician and intercultural mediator, currently pursuing a Master's degree in International Relations, she has experience in youth projects at both national and international levels. She worked as a technician in the FOCO Project, conducting group sessions with young people in educational settings, aiming to promote self-awareness and develop soft skills among vulnerable youth, thus preventing school dropout and other risky behaviors, and enhancing academic success. She also facilitated the Erasmus+ Tools for YOU*! project alongside the LCF team and the Lisbon Youth Center. Additionally, she has experience in organizing Portuguese and literacy courses, as well as informal conversation groups for migrant and refugee populations.

Marisol Carmelino
Citizenship and interculturality courses

Marisol Carmelino

Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, specializing in Social Psychology, currently pursuing a master's degree in Intercultural Relations, with a specialization in Gender Equality, Human Rights, among others. Participates in the Training Scholarship Program of the Directorate-General for Education (DGE) and the Centre for Vocational Training in Agriculture and Rural Development (CFAES), having conducted several Workshops and Training Courses within the scope of the National Strategy for Citizenship and Equality (ENEC), aimed at teachers. She is part of the Training Scholarship Program of the SOMOS Program (Lisbon Municipality) and is a member of Eurogender. Within the framework of the ERASMUS+ Program, she also participates in multidisciplinary European teams, whose projects are focused on global citizenship education, absenteeism, school dropout, among others.

Mara Ferreira
Portuguese language courses

Mara Ferreira

Bachelor's degree in Basic Education, with a specialization in Portuguese-French in the field of Pedagogy. An experienced teacher in the area of Portuguese as a foreign language, has been a member of the Pedagogical Training Scholarship Program CCP (Pedagogical Competence Certification) since 2004. Has extensive experience as a trainer in Language and Communication, French/Portuguese Language, and Language Didactics. In the scope of EFA (Education and Adult Training) and RVCC (Recognition, Validation, and Certification of Competences) courses, she has served as a coordinator and social mediator in groups and classes. She was a guest speaker at the "Cultural Diversity" seminar, promoted by the ACAS Association (Luso-Cape Verdean Association of Sintra). She participated in a pioneering literacy project in partnership with the K’Cidade Association and the Islamic Association of Tapada das Mercês. Additionally, she contributes to the creation of Portuguese Language learning materials as a trainer for the Portuguese as a Foreign Language course at levels A1 and A2 at the CPR (Portuguese Refugee Center).

Vânia Cunha
Citizenship and interculturality courses

Vânia Cunha

Accredited trainer by the Scientific-Pedagogical Council for Continuing Education (CCPFC) in the field of Psychology. With a background in psychology, she completed an academic internship in a community context with immigrant and Afro-descendant populations, immediately embarking on a professional path marked by the need to adapt academic training to the intercultural reality of the territory where she began to work. She has over 10 years of experience in multicultural and high-risk contexts, acquiring diverse learning experiences in different territories, which enabled her to develop a critical perspective on the system and the ability to analyze it. This is complemented and supported by specialized training in the field.

Manuela Gonzalez
Portuguese language courses

Manuela Sol González

PhD candidate in Portuguese as a Foreign Language, attended a master's degree in Language Management and a bachelor's degree in Letters with a focus on linguistics. Specialized in conference interpretation technique, she has extensive experience in the field of education and training, as a Portuguese teacher, and also conducts contrastive studies between Spanish and Portuguese. She was a simultaneous and consecutive interpreter at the Youth Olympic Games, promoted by UN Women Brazil, as well as conducted several workshops as an interpreter at an international level. She was granted a scholarship by the Camões Institute in Lisbon to specialize in Portuguese language and culture, and currently holds a research scholarship, also awarded by the Camões Institute in Lisbon, to conduct research on languages and migrations, focusing on the Ukrainian community residing in Lisbon and their relationship with the Portuguese language.

Nuno Paulino
Portuguese language courses

Nuno Paulino

Ph.D. candidate in Linguistics with a thesis on Language Acquisition and Bilingualism in language groups such as Portuguese, Guinea-Bissau Creole, and Cape Verdean Creole. Holds a Master's degree in Portuguese Linguistics, specializing in linguistic variation, and a Bachelor's degree in Modern Languages with a minor in English, Portuguese, and Spanish. He serves as a Portuguese as a foreign language instructor at the Institute of Portuguese Language and Culture at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisbon (ICLP) and as an examiner at the Center for Evaluation and Certification of Portuguese as a Foreign Language (CAPLE). Since 2022, works as a copy editor at the JPL (Journal of Portuguese Linguistics) and has several scientific publications in the field of Linguistics.

Inês Gama

Master's degree in Portuguese as a Foreign Language and Second Language and bachelor's degree in Portuguese with a Minor in Modern Languages from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Coimbra. Completed an internship in teaching Portuguese as a foreign language (PLE) at Jagiellonian University in Krakow (Poland). Worked as a Portuguese language lecturer at the University Institute of Lisbon (Iscte). Currently works as a Portuguese linguistics consultant on the website Ciberdúvidas da Língua Portuguesa, owned by Iscte, and as a Portuguese language teacher at the Language and Culture Center of the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon (CLiC-IPL). Also collaborated with the Lisbon City Foundation as a Portuguese language trainer for migrant communities.

Ivan Clemente
Portuguese language courses

Ivan Clemente

Master's degree in Clinical Psychology and certified trainer. He worked as a psychologist and technical director in a children's and youth home, and as a socio-cultural animator in a home for people with disabilities. In Maputo, he was a trainer and coordinated a large training project, working with some of the largest companies in the country. As well as Mozambique and Portugal, he also lived in the Netherlands and India. In India, he began teaching English as a volunteer in several social projects, including an orphanage and a community centre for Tibetan refugees. On his return to Lisbon, he devoted himself to teaching Portuguese to foreigners as well as English, and this is now his main occupation. He has also been an English-Portuguese and English-Portuguese translator for over 20 years.

Sara Margarida Reis

Sara Margarida Reis

Sara Margarida Reis is a Portuguese teacher and trainer, as well as a PhD student in Communication Sciences at CIES-Iscte. Her thesis focuses on the use of digital networks in the inclusion of Portuguese emigrants in South Korea. With a degree in Tourism Marketing, a Master's in Portuguese as a Second and Foreign Language, and a Fellowship at IKIP Budi Utomo (Indonesia), she has collaborated on several volunteer projects (NGOs and Impact Ventures) in the areas of immigration, education, citizenship, and civic training, both inside and outside Portugal.

Bruno Costa
Portuguese language courses

Bruno Costa

Bruno Costa is a PhD candidate in Linguistics, specializing in Educational Linguistics applied to the teaching of foreign languages. The dissertation he is currently developing focuses on analyzing the impact of a communicative intercultural strategy on the learning of Portuguese as a host language. He holds a Master’s degree in Linguistics, in the subfield of Educational Linguistics, and in his master’s thesis he investigated the affective and motivational impact of the strategies used by teachers of Portuguese as a foreign language in their classrooms. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in English language teaching and English literature. His research is carried out in the field of teaching and learning Portuguese as a second and foreign language (L2), with a focus on individual difference factors such as motivation, emotions, and intercultural competence. He also researches and has an interest in issues related to language policy and sociolinguistics, particularly in the context of the acquisition of the majority language by minority groups. He has published on this topic and has participated actively in national and international forums dedicated to this area.

Bárbara Nadais Gama
Portuguese language courses

Bárbara Nadais Gama

Holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Portuguese as a Second / Foreign Language from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto (FLUP). Throughout her professional career, she has worked as a language consultant at Ciberdúvidas da Língua Portuguesa and taught Portuguese at the National University of Timor-Leste. She has extensive experience in teaching Portuguese as a Host Language (PLA), having taught in several public schools and delivered courses for migrant communities in organizations, institutions, and associations. She is the author of a Portuguese as a Host Language textbook specifically developed for this target audience. She currently works as a Portuguese as a Foreign Language (PLE) teacher at the German School of Lisbon.
