What for?
General objective:
Contribute to the social and civic inclusion of migrants, who are often at risk of social exclusion and poverty, by promoting integration through Portuguese language learning, training in various areas, and raising awareness of the values of equity, social justice, and intercultural dialogue.
Specific objectives:
- Contribute to the learning of the Portuguese language by migrants in an active and inclusive manner.
- Empower migrant and refugee communities in areas relevant to their integration, such as employability, storytelling, communication, and culture.
- Promote intercultural dialogue and raise awareness in the host society about diversity and integration.
For whom?
Direct beneficiaries: migrants, with special attention to those in situations of greater vulnerability, including women, refugees, and those at risk of social exclusion. The project aims to support new arrivals by providing them with the tools necessary for social and civic inclusion in Portugal.
How?
Main Activities:
- Language learning for social inclusion, through introductory Portuguese classes and intercultural conversation groups;
- Training for social inclusion, through mentoring and individualised guidance for employability; training in storytelling and communication, and promotion of socio-cultural activities/visits.
- Raising awareness of social inclusion through an awareness campaign featuring testimonials from migrants and the organisation of a final dissemination event.
